What is PicoWay?

PicoWay Resolve is a non-invasive, non-surgical, anti-aging device. It uses short laser pulses to stimulate natural collagen production for a younger-looking skin tone. Resolve is a fractional treatment on the advanced PicoWay laser device for benign pigmented lesions such as freckles, age spots, lentigines, and more. Fractional means that only a fraction of the skin is affected, leaving the skin around the treated area healthy which promotes rapid healing.

This breakthrough technology uses ultra-fast pulses known as picoseconds to break down the pigment into the smallest particles. A picosecond is a trillionths of a second and that is very fast. This speed helps the delivery of energy to the pigmented particles. The speed of the pulses shatter even the tiniest pigmented particles, making it easier for the body to naturally clear the pigmentation. As a result, the PicoWay offers better results with fewer treatments, is safe for a variety of skin types, and has little or no downtime.

What To Expect Before, During, And After Picoway

During your treatment, you will be given protective eye wear which will protect your eyes from the intense laser light. Many people ask if the PicoWay treatment hurts. The laser may feel like little pinpricks to the skin. The degree of discomfort varies with each person depending on the nature and location of the pigmented lesions on the body. If you are concerned about discomfort, you can ask for a prescription for a topical numbing agent that you can use during the treatment session.

After the treatment, you may experience redness, swelling, and minor bruising for the first 24-48 hours. You may notice darker spots peeling or falling off in the treatment site. This is a normal part of the process.

The effectiveness of the treatment depends on many factors such as the location, depth, size, and type of pigmentation. Some lesions will require several treatments for optimal results where some can be resolved in a single treatment.
