how is juvéderm administered?
JUVÉDERM treatments generally only take 15 – 30 minutes, based on how many areas need treatment. We'll clean your skin and then mark the injection spots. To decrease discomfort throughout the treatment, JUVÉDERM fillers contain a local anesthetic (lidocaine). Following your treatment, you may return to your normal routine; however, you should avoid strenuous activities like weight lifting or running for at least 24 hours. You should also take care to avoid touching your face immediately after your JUVEDERM injections, which could move the filler into unintended areas.
What happens after my treatment?
You should see a visible improvement immediately following your JUVÉDERM injection, but you may also develop light swelling or bruising in the treated area for 7 – 10 days. Depending on the formula used, results have been known to last 12 – 18 months. Patients who have received multiple treatments over a period of 2 – 3 years generally experience longer-lasting outcomes. Talk to Dr. Pentel about when to book a touch-up treatment at Southside Dermatology & Laser Cosmetic Center to maintain your results.
